Mayumi Murata of RBR Inc

 Mayumi Murata

Chief Executive Officer/Director

Mayumi Murata was born in Tokyo, Japan, attended Sacred Heart (Seishin), then at the age of 10 moved to New York City.  At 15 she returned to Tokyo, graduated from Seishin High School and then the affiliated Sacred Heart College, where she majored in English and minored in Child Psychology.  She also attended St. Godrick's College in London for nearly 3 years, majoring in English Literature.

Mayumi joined Japan International Education Corporation (JIEC) in 1991 and later became the Director of International School Support Services (ISSS).  She joined JIEC-related Tokyo International School as Admissions Director in 2001.  She worked closely with Lia Howe at TIS and shares the same dream of setting up an Art Center in Tokyo, with a keen interest in the bilingual aspects of education.  Her organizational and interpersonal skills, bilingual capabilities, and experience and contacts in negotiating space and other requirements for new schools were indispensable in launching the new RBR.  Mayumi works very closely with Kristin to successfully meet the demands for quality Right Brain programs from RBR's ever-growing list of corporate clients.  Mayumi also continues to liaise with the Japanese community on RBR's volunteer programs for orphanages, senior citizen centers and occupational centers in and around Tokyo.
